Indian Super League- ISL Football Teams

Indian Super League or ISL is a professional football league by AFC in India. It is one of the best football tournaments in India to encourage the football spirit of people. The league created in model of Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 cricket franchise and Major League Soccer of the USA. It has eight teams franchise from across the India. The 2014 ISL season is officially known as ‘2014 Hero Indian Super League’ which title sponsor is Hero Motocorp Ltd. The football tournament started from 12th October 2014 which will continue till 20th December 2014 for the current season.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) had signed a 15-year deal with Reliance Industries along with the International Management Group of the US. The AIFF also completely approved the IMG-Reliance for IPL-style football league in India. On 21 October 2013 the Indian Super League was officially inaugurated by AIFF, IMG-Reliance and STAR Sports (TV partner). In 2014 it was started on 12 October 2014 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. The STAR Sports is announced as the official TV broadcast the ISL in India. Hero Motocorp won the official sponsor campaigning of ads for Indian Super League in India.

There are 8 teams selected for the ISL league which are based in cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Goa, Guwahati, Kochi and Pune. These are following team name, City base and home stadium are the above eight teams.

According to Hindi language the word Diwali is combination of two words: Deep and Awali, which stands for lamps and row, so which combined as Deepawali. The festival generally falls in the month of October or beginning of November as per Hindu Lunar which is known asin the month of Kartika. This event is observed in every part of India with great enthusiasm. As a ritual of this auspicious festival, people perform Goddess Lakshmi puja on the evening of Diwali to receive blessings from Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh for good fortune and prosperous life. Diwali is also famous for decoration of lights and candles in India. Besides, people exchange sweets and gifts with their loved ones.

The festival also symbolizes the victory of good over the evil.  As per the mythological stories, the festival commemorates Lord Ram’s return after completing his 14-year of exile to his kingdom Ayodhya. So, the people celebrate this festival of lights with great enthusiastic to welcome Lord Ram. The Goddess Lakshmi, the wife of Lord Vishnu is worshiped for wealth and prosperity of the family. In the states of West Bengal, Odisha, Assam the festival is celebrated as ‘Kali Puja’ along with Diwali. In southern states of the country, people celebrate this auspicious festival as symbol of victory of Lord Krishan over the Asura Narak. It is also believed that on the day after conquering Asura Narak, he freed all prisoners from his tyranny. The Buddhists in India believe this festival as annual day of the King Ashoka’s conversion to Buddhism. People of Jainism mark the day of Lord Mahavira’s attainment of nirvana.

So, Jains observe the occasion as the festival of lights in the honor of Mahavira. The Sikhs in India celebrate to mark the day of freedom of Guru Hargobind from the jail. Diwali festival is widely an Indian festival, but is also celebrated in countries like Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Nepal, Myanmar, Mauritius and Fiji. It is celebrated by the Indian diaspora in the US, UK, Canada, Australia by bursting of fire crackers, distribution of sweets among their friends.
On this auspicious festival, as a ritual people buy different things such as new clothes, gifts, appliances, kitchen utensils and gold jewelry. On Diwali night, the houses are decorated to welcome the Goddess of wealth Maa Lakshmi.

BJP is going to be the largest party to set State Govt assembly with powerful campaign by the PM with economic development agenda.

Political pundits predicted BJP will the single-largest party which should get a clear majority to form the Govt in the two states with their own. It is seen as the land slide of Narendra Modi who leading from the front to refresh party organization with good governance, creation of employments, effective public policy for the voters. The young citizens are widely inspired by Narendra Modi speech who delivered no. of election rallies in 27 Maharashtra and 11 Haryana states. The exit polls projected Modi magic continues which leads big victory for BJP power after winning general election in May 2014. As per Today’s Chanakya majority 52 out of 90 Assembly seats in Haryana state. ABP News- Nielsen says for 46 and India Today-CVoter predicts for 40 seat s for BJP in Haryana. Haryana state had record high voter turnout of 75.9% which seen as the popularity of Narendra Modi. Major political parties Congress, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and others cannot make tally with seat to find them as Leader of Opposition the assembly. After year 2000, BJP has come to power with full majority in Haryana.

Maharashtra registered with high voter turnout of 63.4% in this assembly election. Also BJP’s with with 151 seats out of total 288 no. of MLA seats in Maharashtra as per Today’s Chanakya. This shows the stunning victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity after his Govt formed in the center. Major parties Congress, Shiv Sena, MNS and others are cornered by Modi’s influence. Analysts said BJP gained the power in Maharashtra after 15 years and Haryana after 10 years. Both outgoing chief ministers, Prithviraj Chavan in Maharashtra and Bhupinder Hooda in Haryana defeated strongly with corruption major issues the election agenda.

Cyclone Hudhud in Andhra and Odisha

The Hudhud cyclone stroked with the landfall 185 km/hour wind speed in Visakhapatnam the port city of Andhra Pradesh and near the costal of Gopalpur in Odisha on Oct 12. Hudhud is a severe cyclonic storm created in the North Indian Ocean 6th Oct 2014. This was created by low pressure under upper-air cyclonic circulation in the Andaman Sea and intensified for depression. Then after with unfavorable climatic conditions Hudhud cyclonic storm intensified to large figure on October 8. As per the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) the cyclone further integrated for super cyclonic on 9th Oct 2014.

The name cyclone Hudhud was given by Oman after the name of the bird Hoopoe (Hudhud in Arabic) and also the national bird of Israel. The Govt of India, State of Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha were fully prepared with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to tackle the natural calamity. The Indian Railway had cancelled 38 trains which routes through the Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar cities and the Airlines facilities had been closed.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has talked to Chandrababu Naidu Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Naveen Patnaik of Odisha about the stock preparedness for Cyclone Hudhud. The PM asked for emergency meeting to review for the cyclone and discussed about the major communication, relief and rescue operations. The Govt has evacuated 3.8 Lakhs people from Andhra and 2.5 lakhs people from Odisha before the cyclone hits landfall.

Effect of Hudhud Cyclone

Visakhapatnam (Vizag) city in Andhra was heavily affected by Hudhud with the speed of 185 km/hour. Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari districts were also sour up by the storm. Odisha reported with Gopalpur town, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Koraput districts were worst hit by the cyclone. In Andaman and Nicobar Islands the landslides were reported making power and communication lines disconnected in the area.

This festival has its own significance.  On this day, all Hindu married women keep fast for their husband’s long life, well-being and prosperity. According to Hindu lunar calendar, this festival is celebrated on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha in the month of ‘Kartik’. This vrat rituals starts from early morning and ends on late night or with moonrise. All married woman keep the fast for whole day till moon rise. The main objective of the fast is to have happy and blissful married life.

As per Hindu mythological stories, Karva Chauth fast was first done by Goddess Parvati for her husband Lord Shiva. Goddess Parvati had put great efforts before marriage to get Lord Shiva as her husband. Married women keep the fast for whole day to tribute to Goddess Parvati for her sacrifices to Lord Shiva to get him as husband. The word ‘Karva’ means clay pot and ‘Chauth’ stands for fourth. Karwa Chauth describes the fourth day of the ‘Kartik’ month of Indian Hindu calendar which followed by full moon night. Women break their fast after viewing the moon at night and her husband through a sieve. Women offer flowers and water to the moon during the prayer. After completing that ritual her husband feed her some fruit or sweet to break the fast.

Hindu and Sikh married women celebrate this special day with ladies of their family and with other females. It is widely celebrated in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Nowadays, Karwa Chauth is celebrated in almost all cities of India due to the cultural effect of Bollywood and Hindi cinema. The Indian Hindu communities who are living in the UK, the US, Canada, Singapore and Australia celebrate this important festival among themselves. Sometimes it is seen the unmarried girls also keep fast to get married to the desired husbands.
