2016 Union Budget of India

The finance minister of the Govt of India presents the annual Union Budget for monetary planning as annual financial statement of the nation. This is presented in the parliament House, New Delhi by minister in charge of Finance Ministry of India. This year it is to be done by Mr. Arun Jaitley, the Union Finance Minister of India. This Union Budget is prepared by team of finance and economics researcher with official direction and guidance by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are responsible of the budget spending of Govt of India.

Every year, Union Finance Budget is represented on February 28 (Feb 29 in leap year) in Parliament House of India. The India Budget 2016-17 Financial Year will reflect finance planning for various sectors like agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, manufacture, and electronics and Income Tax system. The new Tax Rules will come into effect from April 1, which is starting day of financial year of India (April 1 to March 31).

 

India’s Budget Announcement Timing in the Parliament

Before 1999, the Budget of India was presented at 5.00 pm on February 28. This Colonial ritual by British was changed by then Finance Minister Mr. Yashwant Sinha. From year 2001 Union Budget was announced at 11 am time which was appropriate official time for India.

 

Traditional Halwa Ceremony in Finance Ministry

This is an Indian traditional Halwa Ceremony (Sweet food preparation) is marked on starting day of Budget Printing. The official printing of India’s Union Budget begins on February 19 before one week of the Budget Day. The Halwa is offered to all the Budget Team and staff of Finance Ministry. All the Printing Staff of government locked up and isolated in North Block of the Secretariat Building, New Delhi to keep the official secrecy of the Union Budget papers from the general public.

Republic Day of India - 26th January

Republic Day of India celebration is the most prideful and patriotic celebration for all Indian. We celebrate this Republic Day because on that day our constitution was implemented. On 26th January 1950 our constitution was implemented with replacing the Government of India Act (1935) the Indian Constitution Assembly as the democratic governing rule book of India. After the implementation of the constitution of India, India becomes an independent republic nation. It is a national holiday for all Indians to celebrate their Republic Day. The Parliament of India approved the constitution of India on 26th Nov. 1949 and implemented on 26th Jan. 1950. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was the chairman of the permanent Indian Constitution Committee.

The Republic Day function is conducted at Rajpath, India Gate in the presence of Honorable President of India. Various defense forces, states, government departments and school kids perform in the ceremonial parade every year to celebrate the Republic Day of the country. This shows the unity in diversity and cultural heritage of our great country. This parade also displays the defense and military capability, cultural heritage and research innovation of India. The celebration of Republic Day continues for three days and ends on 29th January.

Beating Retreat Ceremony

The Beating Retreat is special and conducted on the last day of Republic Day celebrations. It is a kind of formal closure of the three days long celebrations. Military bands of all three wings: Indian Army, Air Force and Indian Navy take part in this ceremony. This whole ceremony is conducted at Raisina Hill, President’s House in the presence of Honorable President, all military chiefs, Prime Minister and other dignitaries.

Chief Guest of Republic Day Parade

The first republic day celebration was done in 1950, that was the first time when India celebrated it’s Republic Day. Every year we invite a chief guest or guest of honor from some other country. The Head of that respective country attends the whole function as chief guest of Honor. However, everything was done in the respect of country and the President of India presides over the whole ceremonies. President’s Bodyguards give the National Salute to the chief guest (Head of the Govt of friendly nation) where the leaders are escorted by President’s Bodyguard on horse as per protocol. Indian National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” is played by the Army bands. Also Mahatma Gandhi’s favorite hymn “Saare Jahan Se Achcha” is also played. The ceremony starts with the floral homage given by the Prime Minister of India at Amar Jawan Jyoti (memorial to soldiers) at India Gate in the tribute to great martyr soldiers of India.

 Public Celebration of National Festival

This historical Republic Day celebration is observed in every part of the country. This ceremony reflects the national strength, integrity, growth and stability of the country. Every state organizes the National Flag (Indian Tricolor) hoisting ceremonies, parades by armed forces on the day. There are various patriotic competitions, debate, essay writing and cultural functions are conducted in education institutes for celebration. Shopping Malls, market places, NGOs and private organization celebrate this special day in their own ways like asking people to wear clothes in tricolor clothes or something else.
